So I might trade my 360 in for a new S model, but what do I do with the data on my console?

Do I just copy the game save data to USB then format the drive?

This is what I put on mine from Games and Apps per Game everything that wasn't an installed game or update. Gamer Profiles, Themes, Gamer Pictures, Avatar Items. The Profiles are a bit of a pain to move. I didn't bother formatting mine I left it brimming with installed games etc :p

Don't transfer the licences to the new console until you've run it for a while I did this as I wanted to see if I kept all my Forza 3 Gift cars etc, but it seems like this new console may have some dodgy memory. If I do take it back it's going to be 4 months before I can use my FM3 main save again without losing cars.

I didn't have one to hand in I use wired now so they took the new one out. Make sure you have the Scart adaptor block for the composite lead. I didn't bother looking for mine after looking at the what's in the box page which didn't show it so they stole that as well. They don't need the headset.

I used rechargeable AAs anyway so no way I'd hand those in.

I'm not sure they would be bothered about batteries. I was going to trade in a mates pad and give him the new one, but it was more hassle then its worth if the pad failed to give good scores in Slowturn Checker.

is that for the £99 deal

make sure you have the component cable as they had to take it out of my new one or the deal was off yesterday, even though I had the HDMI one.

in the end i spent 45mins in game cos they were idiots and couldn't get the till to recognise the deal, then the guy turned round and said that will be £52 please sir, I paid and ran!

I take it I do not need to back up all the DLC such as COD map packs, as I can download those again?

They are linked to your Live account so can be re-downloaded. It would be advisable to use the License transfer tool FIRST. Otherwise you will only be able to play/use any content whilst online. Probably wouldn't be an issue for most people, unless their Broadband went down.

If you have any space left copy them over, but yeah you can just re download from account management>download history.

I wouldn't recommend license transfer first for the reason I outlined in 3#

move rather than copy the save games, if you copy a forza save it corrupts, you have to move it, it might be the same for other games?

i just moved my profile, saves and arcade games etc.. to usb when i moved to a new xbox and formatted the old hdd after.

Your account is your profile move your profile on to USB problem solved. On the console you only get the option to move Forza.

I got a different deal through Gamestation, £170 for 250GB console including Forza 4, got them to match £90 trade in for my Elite from CEX, so after a few other trade ins all I had to pay was £53.

I went to transfer the licence but the console id was not the serial of the new console, now I'm confused.

Should it be the serial number or is the console id different?
