It depends, are you struggling with anything at the moment and what res do you play?

You could always sell you current card and grab a cheap 4890 or something similar and wait for the new cards to drop in price somewhat. But without knowing what problems you are having if any in frame rates it's a little hard to know for certain.

I'd steer clear of quadfire if I were you, better off selling it and then going for a 4890 IMO.

2 3870x2s in Crossfire may well be faster than a single 4890 in games where it works properly, but you're going to be dependent on good driver/game support and also have to deal with excessive heat/power consumption.

I would get the HD4890, or the Nvidia equivalent (GTX275)

but, only IF its struggling or dying

To be truthful, if you want it for the "oh shiney and new" factor, I would personally save up and not bother.

If it is for a particular reason though, let us know what you need / res you play and we can offer better advice.

I would say though:

1. Stick with what you have
2. Buy a 4890 (sell what you have now if you can).
3. Stick with what you have, sell it when the new cards come out and try and make the difference up.
