Hi. Me and the family are of to Belfast soon for a few days. Going to visit giants causeway one day as well.

What else should we try and see when up there? We won't have a car though. Staying in Belfast as well. Thanks.

Also. What's the score on taking baby bottles on a flight as well that are filled up? Unsure. Maybe someone can advice.

Thanks

Titanic museum for sure. If you're into that kind of thing.

EDIT. I mean 'if that floats your boat'.

And while your there there's the nomadic and caroline are well worth a look all pretty much on the doorstep. (Although caroline may still be undergoing work depending when you arrive)

If castles are your thing you have carrickfergus and dunluce castles at either ends of your causeway run (relatively speaking) carrick at least has decent enough transport links from belfast not so sure if any of the coast buses stop by dunluce.

Theres also the gobbins cliff path, if you're lucky enough to arrive on the 1 week of the year its actually open.

I'd hire a car if possible as Northern Ireland's public transport system is bare bones and getting from Belfast to anywhere not on a train line is a chore.

If you make it to the Giant's Causeway, go to Bushmills as well. The distillery tour is good value (i.e. you get a lot of Bushmills).

Take the kids to the W5 science centre. It isn't cheap but there's a lot to do for anyone aged three or over.

Drink in the Garrick.

Ahh, the Giant's Causeway ... what's that old saying? something like 'it's worth seeing but not worth going to see', that just about sums it up but then again my opinion may be tainted as I've seen it so many times when giving visiting relatives the grand tour :/

There's some game of thrones stuff about as well if you are into that.

North Coast
Giants Causeway
Carrick-a-rede rope bridge
Bushmills Distillery
Ballintoy Harbour (GoT location)
Dunluce Castle

Belfast Itself
Titanic + SS Nomadic
HMS Caroline (if it's reopened)
Harbour boat tour
Black Cab Tour - recommended if you want to hear about actual troubles history from people who experienced it 1st hand
Many bars - for a tourist the Duke of York is a decent starting point they have great murals up for some good pictures. But Harp Bar, Dirty Onion, Garrick, The National all have good beer selections on.

Try to avoid getting shot.

Safety tip: pretend you're an Irish expat, and tell everyone your name is Michael Finn Seamus McDonnell O'Flahahaherty.
