I'm flying to Dublin tomorrow for five days, apart from pubs and clubs. What else is there to do during the day. I will be visiting the guinness brewery.

that costs money :p..

All of £3! Which will be double in beer when your bored because you haven't got a guide book. To be honest it is an ugly, smelly, miserable city, with sod all to do. I have been there numerous times and found each visit to be utter crap! BTW, don't expect friendly rsponses from the public, they hate tourists!

Have a nice time ! :)

I had a great time there in July with my mates. We drank a lot and went to the Guinness Brewery. Drinks are pretty expensive, good 3 days we had though :D

As was stated - its a terrible city to visit..... I hate it in fact (and think ots one of the worst in Europe)

That said - the bars are there - the usual theme bars/pubs - the same as in any city.....but you would be hard pushed finding a local person to chat to as its full of immigrants now - the main reason the locals don't take to kindly to tourists now .

Yeah its that full there no locals at all  . Not worse that the amount on the mainland. Infact there will be 10 times the amount on the mainland.

I didn't say there were no locals.....just not many of them left there.....and I know, because I'm from NI myself and have the misfortune of seeing Dublin every few months....

Still wouldn't go there if I had a choice though - as it has absolutely nothing to offer compared to Belfast.

But if people haven't been there before - who am I to tell them the truth about the place...... one street - a few old bars now modernised to look like every other city bar in London (only the booze is double the price)- a zoo, a bridge and a few Guinness museums. And if you are lucky, you might just get mugged / a few racist comments / threatened with a hypo / scammed by a taxi driver / had you car broken into / credit card cloned (all of which I have had there - and I've been there a total of 7 weekends)

Almost OK spot - if you can see past the Temple bar area - now that its all hen parties and stag nights.....;) But there's not much else past Temple Bar

I wasn't that impressed with the Jamersons museum. It was recommended as being better than the Guiness one, but you I'd have preferred it if you got to tour of the actual factory rather than just seeing minute models of it all.

There is a lot to do just wandering round temple bar and there was a huge museum that I forget the name of that was doing an excebition on clothing through the ages when I was there, and a nice art museum.

Are you going with a group of lads, or your misses?

Get the train from Dublin to Rosslare and then a boat to France..

Dublin's the last place I'd recommend in Ireland. You'll probably end up in Temple Bar burning your liver with the rest of the UK tourists. If you're looking for Irish culture, music, language, etc, go to Galway City.

Anyway, seeing as your stuck with Dublin, there are plenty of nice pubs where you will meet some locals. Grograns, The Long Hall, etc.

Go to Heuston railway station and hop on the train to Galway. It takes about 3 hours and is well worth it. Dublin is like downtown Shanghai now, Galway is a much nicer city.
