What to do in Lisbon?

the name is "Bairro Alto"
free translation: "High Quarter"

it´s a bit like "red district" in another cities, but full of animation at night

about "Bife na Pedra" or "Steak on a Stone"
( only if you are a woman):D

haha

didn't read the bit about being a woman :p

that's probably a good description, it's not like a red light district with all the naked girls and drugs and that, but it's really really busy till all hours. i would happily go back providing we had my mate's brother dave there, he was our translator and speaks portugeuse like a native (he was actually mistaken as a brazilian - where he learnt it). we wouldn't have found what we did without him.

I was there a few years ago, there was a lovely restaurant called the Al Cantara Cafe, poshest place i've ever been in but was pretty cheap. Lovely food and bar and was attached to a club too. Pretty sure there was a free pool table there too :D.

If you fancy a bit of walking head out to Sintra (about 20 miles out), there's an old palace (completely pink!)on the top of a mountain and some ruins too. Its a lovely place.
