What to do over summer as between degrees

If you are serious about working at the uni and tescos for a total of 6 days a week and get paid for all of it then get a temporary rental place sorted and live at uni over the summer.

Most people would want a break before they start an epic 3-4 year project which will be possibly the most stressful thing you ever undertake. Some don't care, so do whatever makes you happy as now would be a great time to go away somewhere exotic and live it up.

This man speaks the truth :)

If you've got a couple of K stashed away get yourself off for a couple of weeks of sun, sea and rumpy pumpy :p

After that you'll have a lot of commitment and hard work required for the PHD so enjoy yourself and travel a bit while you're still young and have the money and the opportunity :)

You must be able to find something to do? I was in the same situation last summer, and found summer research work at the University of York in between MEng and starting PhD. It was about 13 weeks research in total and was a great experience. Still, I think I read more journals in the first couple of weeks of PhD then all of the previous years of my life put together :p
