Hi,

Had a Golf for the last 2.5 years approx (changed to a Mondeo in May :)) but during my ownership I purchased a VAG COM cable.

Then I never used it. Tidying up today I've come across it and now I no longer have a VW or similar vehicle I am at a loss as to what to do with it or it's true worth - any useful ideas on either?

:)

If only there were some sort of way you, as an private individual could sell things online! Shame there isn't any way of doing a sort of price increasy thingy on line.
Like an auction sort of thing maybe?

Oh well. Shame that. It would have probably made some money for the inventor.

:p

Does it not use the same socket as every other OBD device? Is is a usb thing or a handheld reader? If it's usb could you not just use other software for your new car?

I haven't a clue. It says it's a Hex + CAN to USB interface cable. Nothing more, would need a laptop to make any use of it.

If its an original Rosstech Hex-USB-CAN cable then it will be worth a fair bit of money. You could sell it on one of the VW or Audi forums or Ebay like someone said. You can also still use it on all newer vehicles for engine diagnostics as it is also OBD2 capable. I kept mine when we sold the Audi, it cost about £250 if remember rightly and I figured that the money is spent so might as well keep it for if I need it again or to use on other peoples cars.

if its a genuine rosstech cable e-mail in trust :)

if its a cheapy then stick it on the bay for a few quid
