What to do with my Asus board?

A month or so ago I bought a new gaming system along with an Asus P8P67 motherboard, however it is one of those boards that's affected by the SATA issue.

Does anyone know what the situation is with these boards? Am I able to get a full refund?

I really want the Asus P8P67 Pro board instead which is £15 more so I was hoping I could either somehow pay an extra £15 and get the pro board or get a complete refund and buy a P8P67 pro board in time so I don't have any down time with my computer.

at the very worst you can get a full refund and then pick what you want to buy next. I don't know if you got it from OcUK but if you did, I am sure they would let you pay the difference tbh.

As you say, buy the replacement, then send the other one back for refund.

I've just got off the phone to OCUK and they said I can't get a refund or pay the difference for a different board because it's out of the 28 day range, this is stupid.

They said I can only get a replacement for the same motherboard via Asus but they won't give me a refund, surely other people have been able to get refunds/replacements due to this problem.

It's not mine or anyones fault that the boards are faulty so howcome they told me that?

Not very happy about this.

a direct swap for the same board is fair and if there wasnt any sata issues you would still have the same board without any choice of exchanging for a different model anyway.

although i do agree its a little stingey from OCuk considering they would be getting more cash. I could have sworn somewhere that I saw an OCuk saying they would take boards back in exchange or for refund, maybe i am wrong. Maybe OCuk just dont want the hassle of swapping boards out when there is a method of doing so with the manufacturer.

The Asus swap out procedure is also being discussed here.

We are in danger of ending up with too many threads on this subject, I think.
