What to do with new Dell laptop?

First post so hello everyone!

I have bought a new laptop being delivered tomorrow:
Dell Inspiron 7000 15.6-Inch Intel Core i7-7700HQ

I have been reading up on first things to do with new laptops like installing all windows updates, then turning on Windows Defender...

Would it then be wise to also remove all bloatware by using the windows reinstall option found in 'recovery' to start with a clean windows 10?
I thought at first I would do this, but then saw people saying its worth keeping certain things from Dell that control the fans etc. and some other useful drivers that Windows doesn't get etc...

Does Dell add a lot of bloatware and is it best to reinstall windows, and is it safe to do this ? Alternatively I can pick obvious items to uninstall and do it manually, and stop programs from running on startup etc.

Any tips for my new laptop are appreciated... looking forward to getting it and playing a pc game again for the first time in many years!

Cheers
Leo

Dell doesn't do too much bloatware, you can just remove the stuff you don't want from programs and features.
Any Dell software you need would be on the product support page on the Dell website though, should you wish to do a clean re-install. If I was doing the re-install, I'd download a fresh install ISO from the Microsoft site, and blast the recovery partition away.
In the olden days I'd be scraping for as little installed as necessary, disabling any features I didn't want. Nowadays with SSDs, loads of ram and quick CPUS, I just don't bother.

yes, dont use the recovery partition as it will just put it back to exactly where it is now

download a fresh copy
