Had a quick look and couldn't find a decent answer.

im thinking of replacing my coolant and wondered what am I supposed to do with the old stuff..

Mayhems bottle says don't put it down the drain and dispose of it in a responsible manner but fails to elaborate on what manner that may be.

Do I

bottle it and put it in the bin?

bottle it and take it to a special dump?

bury it in the garden?

basically im asking what do you folks do with used coolant

Never done it before but I imagine your local refuse site should have a section for liquids as I'm pretty sure ours has a shack for used car oil/paints.

I just flush it down the toilet.

(Then again I use plain distilled water and a piece of silver in the loop to kill the alligators )

Depends what is in it that they would consider it unwise to dispose of it down the drain. My coolant contains a lot of ethylene glycol which is toxic so it'd have to go to the local environmental waste disposal site. (same place you take car coolant & old oil)
