I'm looking to replace my sony old crt :p Would be a shame to dump it. Are there are any good tv scrappage schemes around?
I should have bought a new tv during the world cup period to take advantage of the crt tv discount they were promoting.

I think Sony had a trade in offer for old Sony TV's.
Unfortunatley means you can't shop around for prices.

Most ppl end up giving them away I think.

Yes it's a shame because these days CRT TV ain't worth nothing unless you can find some real poor person who cannot afford a newer TV and likes your old CRT. And even then you are only likely to get £50 tops if your lucky. My old CRT TV is a Sony Triniton 29 inch it cost me some £850 back in 1994. The TV is still going well strong and my son uses it in his bedroom so it's still got it's uses I am pleased to say. My new TV is an LG 32 inch LCD this only cost me some £360 and it blows the CRT TV into the dust by far. But I doubt very much it will last for as many years as the old CRT. But at that price to be honest if it lasted me 5 years it would be easy enough to replace.

Alright thanks guys. Will probably donate it to a charity.

panasonic have trade in offers on now, depending on what you buy, you get anywhere from £50 to £100 of a telly.

Where did you see this. I couldn't find it?
