What to do with old surround sound speakers?

Hi, about 20 yrs ago I had a 5.1 surround sound package, which included a Paradigm woofer, but I don't recall the other 4 speakers brands. About 10 yrs ago I replaced with a KEF setup, the subwoofer went in a cupboard and the others went in the loft. I now want to get rid of them, after finding out if they still work or not.
Any ideas?
At the moment best I can see is put them on a web auction site, collection only so I'm not paying for delivery. I'm not really after money for them (wasn't state of the art when purchased, even less so now!). Barring testing showing something wrong, they should still work and its a bit galling if the only option is to dump them. If web auction site doesn't pan out, I wondered if there are charities or something that would want them?

There's always Member's Market here, subject to your privileges. You have to have a certain number of posts or have been on here and active for a minimum amount of time.

Online you have Ebay, Gumtree, Shpock, Online Car Booty and similar. There are member's markets on other forum sites too; AVForums for example. I'm sure charities do take in stuff like this. I've seen St Luke's Hospice charity sell more specialist AV gear through Ebay. The little shops may not understand it, but if there's a central warehouse somewhere then there's a reasonable chance that someone there is a bit more clued-up. You could also try the selling groups on Facebook.

Paradigm woofers seem reasonably popular on Ebay. Having a postage price and being able to ship does improve your chances of a sale as well as boosting the sale price a bit too, but it's up to you how you want to play it.

Get some info on the gear - makes and models - then take some decent pictures.

I sold my old 5.1 pioneers on ebay recently. No amp. £50. They had been on there for over a year with the price slowly dropping. Sold it to a guy making a cinema room for his kids on the cheap.
