I'm not sure if this is the right place for this to go. I have my old desktop PC which is just sat there gathering dust, my monitor broke last year and with my purchase of a new MacBook Pro I never replaced it so it has just sat in the corner of the room redundant for 12 months now. It's about 7 years old now so I'm not sure there is any value in it to sell, which begs the question what should / could I do with it?

The spec is:

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor
Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black/Red (HX24C11BRK2/16-OC)
Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache

There was a GTX 970 but I pilfered it to put in my nephews computer.

unraid server?

I've got a very similar spec sitting here doing 'nothing' at the moment too, been toying with turning it into an unraid server (or buying/converting a nas).

Alternatively you could give a Linux distro a go, play around with overclocking if you're into that thing etc.

If you need a monitor it could be plugged into a tv or you grab a super cheap display....

Do a search and see if there are any projects near you that would like it. With these sort of projects if a part breaks they will have a host of similar generation parts to help fix the problem.

Sell on FB? I recently sold my old PC via FB.

To be honest, its not a bad computer at all... Its a respectable spec and its till going to be faster than anything that you will get in some places I could mention.

Reinstall Windows onto it, and give it a nice clean up, plop another Graphics card into it and sell it - its going to fetch you a couple of hundred easily.

Do what I always suggest. Do you have any youngish nieces or nephews or family friends with a kid 8-10 who is looking to get into Fortnite, Minecraft etc? Pick up a cheapish graphiocs card, 970/980/1060 or 570/580 and it'll run those games easily.
