I may be getting my hands on a spare G5 from my office that is no longer used for next to nothing and I'm unsure what to do with it. I don't want to sell it, strip it for bits or take the HDD out particularly as they seem like the obvious things to do.

We have no need for a server/media server as the wife and I have a computer each which are connected via the network anyway, so access to each others files is easy.

Any creative ideas?

Break out the dremel and mod the crap out of it. Pretend you're the entire A-team and get Macgyver on it's ass!
I've always liked the look of the G5's.

Give it to a local charity organization that may be in need of office equipment.

Any young relatives that may jump at their first Mac even if it isn't the latest and greatest?

Meh.

Would rather do something with it if I am buying it rather than giving it away.

I am tempted to mod it and get a non apple computer running in the pretty case.
