What to do with very old hardware?

I was recently going through my storage and I found 2 windows xp laptops and a desktop computer.
I have searched on ebay, CeX and craigslist to see whether there are people selling them. I found a lot of the same components for sale for prices ranging from £1 to £50. However in my opinion the hardware is useless.
I wondered whether anyone has sold seemingly useless old parts and made money or whether I should just recycle them?

Tl:dr. Are very old pc parts worth money?

depends on the parts and what you consider as a 'worth'. some old stuff can be useful, maybe even upgrade. if they can run windows 10 then there might be some appeal.
