I'm am at a loss again, now I have a ocuk7900gs which is grate but I now have the £117 to get 1 more and run SLI or should I keep the money sell the other 7900gs and get a ATI Radeon X1900 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) £177 @ocuk
625MHz ATI Radeon R580 Core (X1900)
- 256MB 1450MHz GDDR3 Extreme performance memory
- 48 pixel shader processors
- 8 vertex shader processors
- 256-bit 8-channel GDDR3/GDDR4 memory interface
- 512-bit internal ring bus for memory reads
- Optimized for performance at high display resolutions, including widescreen HDTV resolutions
- Crossfire compatible - Master Edition ATI X1900 card required!!

The 7900gs
GeForce 7900 GS core running at 450MHz
- 256MB GDDR3 Memory running at 1320MHz
- 20 Pixel Pipelines
- Designed For Extreme HD Gaming
- Nvidia Pure Video Technology
- Dedicated Video processors free the GPU Shaders to run 3D applications
- Dual dual-link DVI supports two 2560 x 1600 resolution displays
- SLI ready – Upto 2x the performance of a single GPU
- True High Dynamic Range Rendering Support – Based on Open EXR technology

would 2 7900gs in SLI mode give me that much more performance

Get the sli, remember a 7900gs easily reaches gt speeds, and two gt's are a force to be reckoned with. Also the ATI cards can be quite loud.

IMHO go for the extra 7900gs.

but 48 processors on theX1900 and on the 7900gs there are only 20
the rest of the x1900 is impressive 625MHz ATI Radeon R580 Core (X1900)
- 256MB 1450MH
and the 7900gs I have the ocuk 1 which runs happly @640 core and 1500mem
so the extra 7900gs will make up for the 28 extra pixel shader the ATI has.
I do like the 7900gs and would preferre to stay with 2 * 7900gs SLI as long as the performance gain is worth having 2 7900gs against 1 ATI x1900
