Hello all,

I am stuck on what todo with my home PC setup.

I have a Crossfire setup with 3gb of RAM which I am thinking of breaking up and then get a 17" widescreen HP laptop with blu ray etc. Or I am thinking to put it towards a fund for a PS3 or just keep what I have and then upgrade the case and get a new keyboard.

Just wondering what people think.

Thanks

Tom

They are X1900XT 512Mb cards. One being the Crossfire edition and the other a normal card. Memory is a 2x1gb and then 2x 512mb

A 17" is difficult because usually they are to big to carry around and are chunky things, which defeats the object of it being portabe, so you end up using it like a desktop but then the performance is never as good as a desktop and you lack the ability to upgrade

PS3s are difficult too because i find they are great fun for playing multiplayer, but i like to have a mouse and keyboard for FPS plus if you build a really good rig it will have better graphics than a ps3 and has more functions, i.e. internet, films etc (i know you can get some of these on ps3s but they are easier to use on a pc).

Personally i would save for a new desktop which you could put a blu ray drive and hd card in if you wanted hd playback

Many thanks for your replies.

The rest of the spec of the PC is 2 DVD writers 16x, 100 HDD and a 300HDD, 550W Modular PSU.

The laptop would be used to reduce space with the desk space etc. So don't need to cart around the new laptop.

I would miss playing the FPS games that I do like to play.. But the thing is I don't go on the PC that much. I mainly use the g/f's laptop for surfing etc.
