What to do?

Hey everyone im new to these forums and i have a bit of a dillema, iv had my PC for around 1 and a half years now and i was just wondering should i build a better one? I want to start PC gaming as i have sold my xbox360 so i will be playing high end games like GTA IV, crysis, fall out 3 ect.. My current pc specs are:

AMD phenom 9500 2.2GHZ
3.00GB ram
8500GT
windows vista

I have £850 to spend on building a new pc (my first time ever building one ) im just wondering is it worth it?
