Dropped my HTC touch diamond in the snow, I don't care, it was annoying even when it worked, gonna send it to Mazuma for £30.

The problem is I've got 6 months remaining on my o2 simplicity contract (sim only).

Do I cancel this, pay off 6 months and go elsewhere? Other than that, what sim only phones are as good?

Can I downgrade from o2 simplicty 12 months to a rolling monthly contract?

I quite fancy the Nokia E72 though to get away from touch screen... any idea of decent contracts for it?

If it's a sim only contract then they should be happy to downgrade it to a rolling monthly contract as it's not subsidising the phone. I'd give them a call and ask

Yeah I phoned o2 the other day to ask whether I could maybe regrade or change tariff and get a new handset, jsut after I broke my HTC... and they said the only thing I could do was to cancel the contract and pay off the remaining months :/

I'll call them tomorrow and try and downgrade to the monthly plan. Can't see it being a problem, you actually get less mins and texts.

Nope, they want £80 to cancel my contract, isn't as bad as it sounds as I got £100 via quidco, so I wouldn't actually lose out...
So yea, what decent sim only phones are out there?

Thinking sim free Nokia E72. Has a proper keyboard, GPS, ok camera... thats all I need.

Found one for £275 new sim free.

Certainly cheaper than cancelling my contract and paying £30 p/m with another provider for 18 months..

Plus I think I qualify for an upgrade on the simplicty contract in July.

I find Symbian an awkward OS, hence suggesting the Milestone (which also has a keyboard, GPS and camera) but I didn't realise that you could get the E72 for that price which is a bit of a bargain in comparison to the Milestone!

E72 ordered, I guess I can just see what o2 can offer as an upgrade in July, and if its half decent just sell on the E72.
