I've currently got a 5850 and it doesn't seem to be holding up too well in BF3 I'd like a solid 60 FPS on high + a few extra shiny bits, I've tried overclocking it but on a stock cooler it sounds like a plane taking off, So i've got 3 options which i'd like some guidance please!

1. I buy another 5850 and crossfire them
2. I buy a after market cooler and try to overclock it and get the most out of it.
3. Sell my 5850 and my netbook and buy a new card worth around £200 - £230

My specs are:
i5 750 @ 3.8
gigabyte p55-u3sl
4 gig of ram

Thaaanks!

Hi there,

Since your motherboard's second full-size PCIE port only supports PCIE x4 then I wouldn't suggest going down the crossfire route.

Instead I would suggest sticking with you current setup for a month or two -until the AMD HD 7950 and Nvida kepler competitor are launched. This means your £200-230 will buy you a much larger performance upgrade than what you can get now (HD 6950 or GTX 570).

to get that you need a overclocked 6950 6970 or 570 gtx in performance. two 5850s would do it also. 7870 will be about 200 quid be out start of march. that is basically a 6970 less power.
