What to expect from the 5060 and RX 9060 launches?

What are everyone's thoughts on the upcoming launches of the Nvidia 5060 and AMD 9060 (plus Ti and XT variants)?

Will the launches be within a day or two of each other again or will we see the Nvidias launching way earlier?

Which is likely to win on performance and how close will they get to the 5070 and 9070 series? How will they compare with previous generations?

Will demand massively outstrip supply again making it difficult to get one at MSRP?

What is pricing likely to look like?

Having missed out on a 9070 XT at MSRP, I'll be deciding between one of these, a used previous gen card, price drops in the future or just waiting for the next gen. I currently have an 8GB card (RX 6600) so would only be interested in one of the 16GB variants and only if they're enough of a performance upgrade.

The rumours I've seen suggest that the target performance is around a 7700 XT on the AMD side and a bit slower than a 4070 on the nvidia side.

I'd expect their performance to be pretty close.

I doubt they will be available way earlier. Early April for both is my guess.

If they're similar to the latest 5000/9000 cards and sold alongside the last gen, then I'd say:
- £400-£450 for a 9060 XT (£350 paper price)
- £450-£550 for a 5060 Ti (£450 paper price)

- £350-£400 for a 9060 (£300 paper price)
- £400-£450 for a 5060 (£400 paper price)

I expect to be...

Realistically, I expect the MSRP of these cards to be roughly where it should be, though perhaps slightly higher than you'd hope—around £349 for a 9060 XT and £449 for a 5060 Ti.
However, the actual price if you want to get one will likely be closer to the MSRP of the next tier up, around £500–£550.

The lower you go the more these cards collide with previous cards.

It's one thing queuing up at 4am for a cutting edge card which will play modern games with bells and whistles but why get out of bed for an esports grade card that performs like many previous cards. Probably using less power but the performance will not be anything new.

5060 will be next to non existent

9060 should perform around a 7800xt for less money for luck I will be £375

Horrendous on the 5050 5060, if the 9060 is well priced and offers 7700XT performance/vram equivalents it'll be a decent "budget" offering fingers crossed.

5060Ti will be like a 10% better 4060Ti. So like a 15% better 3060Ti

Or in some instances slower, which was literally the case for the 4060ti. We've already seen the odd game that massively underperforms on the current 5000 cards vs the prior Nv generation.

Seeing a 5060ti lose to a 3060ti is going to be utterly hilarious, even if it's only in one or two games.

I expect bad reviews, and much depression among OcUK posters who want a card in this range.
Piddly amounts of VRAM, strangled by a tiny memory bus. Maybe the cores to have been cut down a bit too far as well.
Obviously the price not match the performance.

Given that you wanted a 9070XT, these cards will not be what you want.

I expect less people to care about scalping these cards and OP if you are coming from the efficient RX6600,the RX9070 is a good choice if under £550.

The RTX5070 had around 4% more shaders, but a 20% higher base clockspeed and more memory bandwidth than an RTX4070. It is around 20% faster overall.

We have some leaked specifications for the RTX5050,RTX5060 and RTX5060TI:

The RTX5060TI has around 6% more shaders than an RTX4060TI. So I expect it to between an RX7700XT and RTX4070 in performance.

The RTX5060 will be probably around RTX4060TI performance or slightly better.

The RTX5050 will be around RTX4060 performance.

Navi 48 looks like it is half a Navi 44. So I expect around RTX4060TI/RX6750XT performance or maybe closer to RX7700XT performance.

IMHO,it will be in-between an RTX5060 and RTX5060TI.

Thanks, some good info here.

I thought the 9070 XT looked quite good value at MSRP. I was kind of disappointed with its high power draw though and was hoping AMD might have made some improvements here. It does look like it can be undervolted fairly well however. I'll still keep an eye out for more stock at MSRP, although the only card that can fit my case is the Powercolor Reaper.

The 9070 looks much better in terms of power draw, however I did think the price was too high even at MSRP. If we see discounts over the MSRP in the future I could be tempted, otherwise I'll look for a deal on something used as a step up towards better 1440p performance.
