Every time i get an upgrade i tell myself that it will be my last, but keep comign back for more. I'll have finished my exams in a couple of weeks and wanna blow some money to celebrate..

At the moment my system is:
Asus 4850 512mb
2x Ide hard drives
e2180 @ 2.8 ghz
4gb 5300 ocz ram
Asus P5q pro
19" Monitor @ 1280x1024

Im thinking of spending sub £80 really .. I just wandered what you recommended. I was considering gettign a wheel, probably the f430 .. But one thing that has caught my eye is the constantly lowering price of the 4850. should i go for crossfire of these if i can pick up a MM for about £65? or am i really being limited by my cpu, especially at such a low resolution.

Im at 2.8 on what is probably a noob clock, at 1.35volts very stable... It's the ram thats really holding me back at the moment, so i could replace that .. When is windows 7 coming out?.. and how much will it cost? ( if i'm going for a new hdd i may aswell go for a new os).

Also My monitor is a samsung syncmaster 193v.. an ok monitor, but not being produced atm.. would there be any point in buying a second and running them side by side as dual monitors ( i have no idea about the complications of this).. but if i could pick one up for about £50 do we recon this would be worth it?

I'd get two of these wd640 sata drives and put them in raid 0

2nd screen is nice to have but very few games use a 2nd screen, supcom is the only one that comes to mind, but I miss having a 2nd screen, if you write a lot of reports based on stuff you read on the internet or work with word and excell stuff at the same time you will enjoy having a 2nd monitor

Hmm i was also thinking a no about the 2nd screen.. The problem with it being that it leaves you with your centre of view obscured by the middle of the screens.. and also i dont use my pc for much word processsing at all really

Am i right in thinking i cant run my os off the existing IDE, and run games off a new sata, regardless of how stupid this may be

you can get hold of Windows 7 Ultimate RC which is free to download and upgrade any windows Vista OS. think it will be £100+ but who's to say, could be same price as Macs new OS, nicknamed snow leopard at £90.

you could get a nice speedy HDD for the release candidate of W7 and see how it goes :D

ah wow so this is basically a free OS for a year then? .. Also whats the compatibility of it like with "stuff"?.. I herd that a future edition of it was offerign a dualboot Xp option.. does this come with this edition? ... whats the performance like compared to vista 64? and compared to xp? .. Regardless of that i'd be tempted to set up a dual boot of Xp and windows 7 ... any ideas?
