What to get? USB or adapter? [Wireless]

I've been using this for YEARS:

Cisco-Linksys-WMP54GS-Wireless-G-Card-SpeedBooster

It's never failed on me once, despite it not being compatible with windows 7 and is really, really old, but I think the antenna is getting loose and isn't working as well as it should.

What's the main difference between USB and wireless card adapters?
What is better in general?
What's better gaming?

PCI-* cards usually have better antennas. Does your router support 802.11n?

I have a BTHomeHub 3 - I assume this will be fine?
Also I've seen this card (recommended by someone else via search option)

I've just bought the TP-Link TL-WDN4800 which uses the Atheros AR9380 chip. It's supposed to be good. However, I'll only get it installed when I move house in 10 days or so.

All links above will work with BTHOMEHUB3, right? And an ASUS card will work in a Gigabyte motherboard?

Good choice. You shouldn't run into any compatibility issues. Grab the latest drivers from the TP-Link website.

I will be using the latest driver for the Atheros AR9380 (10.0.0.45) from here.

Yep better to get the drivers from the chipset maker.
