The X1800XT is a considerably better card but what sort of resolutions and detail levels will you be playing at? If it isn't above say 1280x1024 with high detail then I'd probably go with the 7800gt but maybe wait for more advice on that

Depends, if you want to save some money go for the GT, if you can afford it and want a better card go for the 1800XT.

Its down to whether you think its worth the extra really.

playing at 1680x1050, £80 is not a big gap just wondered if uts worth it

if you will just be saving for saving sake... just spend it
