Hi all,

I apologise if something like this already exists, however I would like to avoid reading old/dated information which may no longer apply in todays market.

I am looking for a 24" monitor for gaming. I wanted to ensure I do not make any school boy mistakes so hoped you could help.

For gaming it looks like I want a TN monitor over IPS? I guess this is due to the MS response times.

The dynamic contract applies to the display when viewing the monitor off center? So this would surely be something which is naturally higher on IPS monitors?

Brands - I hear good things about Dell monitors, however my friend has a BENQ and even though it's on it's last legs, it's got a lovely picture quality.

Please could you suggest which brands I should look at. Are Dell, BENQ and Samsung top of the list?

Price - I was looking to spend about £200 tops.

id look for a 1080p panel with a fastish response time

TN has faster response times in general i believe but the manufactures are a bit vague with response times, the number doesnt tell you the whole story so look for a review and read about how much it "ghosts" in games

nothing to be overly concerned with tbh, again each manufacturer will tell you silly stats about their ratios but you just need to read a review

dell monitors are some of the best but also some of the priciest

i usually buy whatever monitor is cheapest that has:
- the resolution i want
- the screen size i want
- the inputs i want

anything after that is superfluous imho

yes, all decent brands. BenQ will be cheapest from that list.

this is probably what id get
