Hoping I got the right section for this question.

So I came by a Gigabyte Geforce 1060 GTX windforce OC 3GB GDDR5 card -and would like to assemble and gift it as a surprise.

Silly thing is I'm chasing around and haven't come up with a solid opinion for mobo/chip etc that'll make the best use of the card -whilst keeping a best eye on ££'s spent.

No need for a monitor/keyboard selection, so just the box really.

This system will be likely used for mainly gaming/some video editing.

Would love to hear ideas and every one is appreciated !

Ups, yes sorry. didn't mention range as was open to creative ideas as well as budgeting. I guess I'd not be upset for £300 on the box (remember it's a gift), but can go higher if the performance goes that much further for the extra ££'s.

They have a 1080p display currently.

Probably best going 2nd hand then,

You can pick up a Ryzen 1600 for under £70 and that's a decent CPU for gaming, pair that with a B350 Motherboard £65 and 16gb of 3000+ mhz RAM £50ish... You can get a new 240gb SSD pretty cheap at the moment, that's enough storage for OS and a fair few games... Powersupply wise you could get away with a 550w unit

Im sure others will have a different opinion but ghats the route I'd go
