Speakers plugged into same surge protector as the computer.

Is it better to :-

a) Allow speakers to start first and then start computer up; or

b) Switch speakers off and start 'em up after computer running ;or

c) I'm being paranoid and it does not in fact make any difference

Up to now as the speakers only cost £40 took the view that ,probably, better to switch speakers on and then comp.- assumption made that if there were a problem it would be speakers that paid the price

Now invested in £100 + set of speakers which I would prefer not to blow; then again motherboard cost about that so don't wish to blow that either.

Not a scientist as you can easily guess.

All advise /info. much appreciated

humm i might be wrong but i dont think it matters as long as when u turn on before your pc you dont turn them up really high, and same when turning off, if ** turning off ya pc first make sure to volume is low.

i hate that damm pop with sounds like somethings broken :P

I don't think you need to be fussed about the order you switch things on at all. The only risk I can see is that you may get a big blast of sound if you've left your volume turned on to blast volume. I don't think that your surge protector protects you from anything other than a surges in mains power and possibly lightning strikes.
