what to upgrade next ??

Hay all.

Need a little help it what be the best upgrade for my pc lol

My spec atm is.

Motherboard = GA-p31-DS3L

CPU = E2180 clocked @3 GHZ (cpu cooler Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro)

Ram = OCZ ATI CrossFire Certified Edition Dual Channel 2 x 1 GB DDR II 800 MHz

HD = 320 gig sata

GPU = 4850

PSU = hiper 580 watt type R (working fine for over 3 years

)

DVD RW IDE

Monitor = sync master 940 bw (1440/900) res

I was thinking getting a 4870 1 gig or a 260 not sure what one better and if the extra fps from a 4850 worth it.

And maybe update cpu for quad core ? mostly for supcom game and supcom 2 when it comes out.

budget really would be 200-250 max

If you're running Vista then some more memory wouldn't hurt.

Apart from that it looks like a reasonably balanced system for that size of screen.

Upgrading for the sake of it is fairly pointless, you’d be better off waiting until there’s an application the machine won’t handle and making a decision then. If there's already something it's not running to your satisfaction then details would help.

i'd just upgrade the memory to 4gb, screen and gfx card are fine.

Can't you get anymore out of the E2180? I had one to 3.6Ghz on the same mobo. That was with the stock cooler too.

I am dual booting xp pro and vista 32 atm

I did try oc my cpu over 3 ghz but volts are already at 1.4ish and even at 3.2ghz it unstable

How more gpu power would i get if i upgraded to a 260 gtx or 4870 1 gig what ever better.

I would get more ram but my mother board has a problem with using all the ram slots up so i can only have x2 2gig stricks.

So the ram i have already i would not be able to use so that would be waste of cash sort of lol

I was thinking of a new monitor but then if i get a 24" that mean i need a better card to match it lol ( i wish i was rich lol
