What to upgrade next?....

Currently have:

q9550
p5q3 mobo
4GB ram ddr3
4870 1GB
800w psu

is there anything seriously worth upgrading? Mainly use it for gaming (source games like left 4 dead, tf2, css, etc) Just want opinions as i'm not 100% up on the new hardware

Spec still pretty good, only thing perhaps hold off for the new ATI 5XXX range of cards.

Ideally no more than 40 to be honest, but if theres something thats worth the extra i'll try and stretch to that.

Yeh i was thinking of maybe getting an ssd for when i get windows 7. The load up times look sweet.

To be honest, you'll not get a noticeable benefit for £40 I'm afraid.

That's still a very good spec. Subject to budget I'd agree with an SSD or possibly (if the mobo takes it) a second 4870.

You will see the biggest leap in overall performance with SSDs. After selling mine it was hard to get used to this HDD crawling along at a snails pace again
