What to upgrade next?

- 640Gb wd black hardrive

Thinking of buying something new for the pc so what does anyone recommend?

Another vote for an SSD. They really are amazing things. HDD access is probably the biggest bottleneck.

How much will a not to expensive SSD set me back? I dont want to spend to much because ive just spend £31k on a deposit for a house and £2k on a ring to get engaged

Greatly improved general performance, particularly when performing random tasks (i.e. day-to-day system usage), as this stuff is often not cached in RAM, and hence is fairly slow.

Anandtech.com has a series of fantastic articles on the benefits of SSDs, check them out, I highly recommend them.
