Hi,

Dipped my toes into pc gaming and have caught the bug.

My current rig stands up pretty well but wanted to know what I should be looking at next. I set Shadows of Morder to ultra high and can see the difference its just a little stuttery.

Current Rig

EVGA NVIDIA GTX 750Ti FTW with ACX Cooling 1189MHz (Boost 1268MHz) 5400MHz 2GB 128-bit GDDR5

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H - Z97X-UD3H Motherboard

Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core Retail

Crucial CT512M550SSD1 512GB M550 SATA 6Gb

HyperX 16 GB 1600 MHz CL9 DDR3 HyperX Beast Desktop Memory Kit (4 x 4GB)

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

EVGA 430W PC Power Supply

Only mistake I know I've made is buying a graphics card that can't SLI. I had intended to get another one latter when they drop in price. I have thought about ebaying my current one and getting a 970/980. My current GTX is about 6 months old and I still have the box, instructions, stickers etc. so presumably i can get ~75% back on it? Would the 980 be overkill?

What do guys think I should do next?

Thanks

Your rig is pretty nice, but what you should do is get a nicer Power Supply one time, 430w is good enough but a lot of cards now (esp my new 970) have a request of at least 500w psu (atleast its what it said on the box, not necessary but cant go wrong ey friend)

What do you clock your CPU to? 4.5? Theres no need to replace the mobo or cpu they are good.

the only thing really is getting a 980/970, personally i say get the 970, it overclocks and equals / outperforms a 980 a lot (a stock 980) best price per performance! and a free game!

The one i got has a small choil whine issue but i barely hear it and i wear headphones, but if you dont like the sound of that go for ocuk's one with reduced/eliminated choil whirl

You ideally need a new GPU, the 750Ti isn't particularly powerful. The rest of the rig looks just fine. 970 should run on the 430W PSU but be aware with overclocking too much. Do you have a link on the Overclockers website to that PSU?

Link for psu is

Removed competitor link.

So new graphics card and psu it is. Any recommendations for a psu?

I was aiming for as silent a build as possible

I'd remove that competitor link mate, against the rules and link the overclockers website instead only, competitor links not allowed :(

The case is a Fractal Design R4

I guess I'd be looking at ~£50 not to sure really. If i plan to run 2 x gtx 970 at some point in the future would I need to go higher?

Without your help I'd probably keep to the same line and go for the EVGA 600W Bronze
