What to upgrade to?

Hey folks. Looking for advice.. Got a i7 6700k with a 970 strix card and it’s been an absolute beast for me and really quiet.

Looking to upgrade the 970 due to games like borderlands 3 and others starting to take their toll. Not after anything amazing as have a 1080 144 monitor at 24” for gaming.

I love the strix, but they seem pricey nowadays (I must have had a decent deal before).. 5700 looked great but drivers really worry me and I need a stable environment for streaming, etc.. And I’ve always used nvidia without issue.

requirement is cool and quiet. About 300 to spend, but can give and take there.

cheers in advance.

Possibly.. but thinking I’m just adding to cpu load currently with the 970 maxed out (it possibly doesn’t work like that irl), that’s my thought process, couple in extra for streaming and other programs it made sense.

When are new gen likely? With most tech there is always something that’s going to be out to send something down in price.. I’m also under the impression that cards won’t come down as much as people think they might, they never seem to, but I also don’t keep an eye on prices.

doesn’t the 2060s fall about 3% under a 2070?

Edit: I'm in the same boat as you currently rocking my 970 that i got at launch and i've decided to wait and see what is on offer from the next gen GPUs

ye I think they will likely be out of my range. I’m just expecting a premium as everyone will want them.

Thanks folks. So, evga and gigabyte.. any particular cards that stick out? 2060 or 2060s wise? Say 300-400? Upping the budget a little as prefer new.

how do msi rate? I’ve ruled ASUS out due to price this time around
