Well had my system almost a year now, was a first time build for me! Everything has been fine but I've got some spare cash so wouldnt mind changing a new things.

Current Spec;

Mobo: Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3GHZ
RAM: OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM
PSU: Hiper 580W Type-R (Ekk!)
GPU: BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
DVD: Sony AW-G170AB2 18xDVD±RW/RAM Dual Layer Writer
Monitor: Samsung SM204BW 20" Widescreen

Now looking at picking up a SATA DVD-RW, Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler but I'm stuck on anything else, Looking at upgrading the Monitor to the 24" version at some point and getting rid of the Hiper but want to wait for the new line of Nvidia cards before I part with cash a new PSU. Worth changing the RAM for some 'OCZ 2GB PC2-6400 800MHz Reaper HPC Enhanced Bandwidth Edition Dual Channel DDR2' Ta!

If you are running your dual core @3GHz with a GTX then there really isn't much benefit of a system upgrade. Maybe hang on for another year.

Spend your money on a nice new 24" TFT though. They are worth every penny :)
