What to upgrade.?

Hi all, I currently have the below spec and am wondering what i can improve on.?

Gigabyte X48-DS5
E8400 @3.825 (425x9) 1.232v
3GB GEIL ULL PC6400
ATI 4890

Is going from PC6400 to PC8500 ram going to make much of a difference here.?
I know the E8400's run at 1366FSB so if i can get the ram devider closer to that it should make a difference no.?

You could stick another 4850 in for crossfire or upgrade to 4890.

New ram will probably only make a very small difference, don't forget the FSB is quad pumped so your FSB is only 341mhz.

Oops typo was supposed to be 4890 sorry

What about sound card? would it offload much.?

I know DIRT lags when you UP the sound quality.?

The only realistic thing i'd do to that setup is to add more RAM. Going to 1066 memory wont make any real difference but with adding more should see a decent overall improvment(assuming you're on XP/vista/Win764).

I can't see how going from 3GB of RAM upwards would make any difference on an XP machine - possibly with Vista.

What pat of your "computing experience" are you wanting to improve? If it's application loading time look at getting a decent SSD, if it's gaming then better GPU...etc..
