what sort of budget ?

would look to mobo/processor and memory.

I have just recently upgraded my PSU & GFX as i thought that could be enough to get GW2 working smoothly in all situations i was wrong ha.

Cheaper the better but would have to be Intel not a fan of AMD, Would there be anything you would upgrade?

While the Z77 allows overclocking but the i3 cannot be overclocked it would allow future upgrade to Ivybridge.

Like Ozaudio said only CPU's that have a K on the end can be overclocked, they would be the 2500K and 3570K for the i5's but they cost nearly £200 alone.

Have you tried overclocking your Q8200?

Obviously the i3 is better but if you can OC you can narrow the gap. The Z77 is a great mobo, it allows overclocking of the K revision CPUs and it also makes clever use of the IGP in the CPU too. It can use the IGP to boost the GPU performance or quicksync will use the IGP to help boost video encoding tasks.

If you don't already I would buy an aftermarket heatsink (for both 775 & 1155 sockets). Like this....

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366) £25.99
Total : £30.98 (includes shipping : £4.16).

This will be necessary to help get more speed from the Q8200 and you can reuse it on the next build. If you are going to get a Z77 it really does make sense to be running the ivybridge i5K CPU to use it to its full potential.

I have a cooler master heat sink and i have overclocked the CPU from 2.33ghz to 2.7ghz, What do you think the highest ghz i could go on this CPU?

Also with my GFX card i believe i can overlock this aswell is this worth doing?

had a quick look round and you might be better of waiting before you upgrade.

fair few people mentioning lag in battles etc, and considering its a beta things should be getting worked on before release.

most of the system requirement specs i've seen are guesswork, but your system seems more than enough to play the game.

Would you suggest getting another 4GB RAM? or is it strong enough?

i'd leave it as it is for the time being.

once you've got the game then see how things go.

have you tried running the game on its lowest graphics settings (turn off any special effects etc) to see how it performs ?

Didn't try it but i like to enjoy the graphics aswell as play :)

Will try it when the next BETA event is out :)

ahhh ok, next beta event, start it as normal then if it still lags try removing the graphic detail.

if its done right the betas should be improved on as they go along, so best to see how it goes as it is to start with :).

Will do :), I was on the verge or revamping my whole pc just for this game but i think i'll wait for the full game to be complete before i do such drastic things ha

thats always an iffy thing to do, mainly due to beta releases being a bit "rough" and work in progress etc.

once its released you'll have reviews/benchmarks etc and it will give you a good idea of how you system performs and what you need to do.
