im going to be upgrading a bit at a time but not sure what will make the most difference my specs are..

AMD Phenom II X4 B50 Processor @ 3.21GHZ
HIS AMD 6850 1GB gpu
4GB Kingston hyperx 1333mhz DDR3 ram
Asus m4a785tdv-evo Motherboard
Coolermaster silent pro 700w Modular Power supply
80GB Sata Harddrive & 40GB IDE harddrive & WD 1tb
Sata DVD-rw
Asus royal knight cpu cooler
Coolermaster scout gaming case

Basically i want to upgrade my rig so i can play bf3 on high ultra settings and record with fraps, i can play bf3 at the moment with medium high settings but cannot record as fraps just kills my fps.

Im going to buy a second 6850 to cf next week(yes i know the problems with microstutter and i also know my motherboard runs at 16x 4x BUT i will still get a performance increase and besides ill eventually upgrade my motherboard.

Question is what should i upgrade first..

I want to get a 120gb ssd and also upgrade my mobo and cpu

Will i see a difference over my B50 upgrading to an AMD Bulldozer FX-6 Six Core 6200 Black Edition 3.80Ghz when playing games and recording?

What should i buy first as im upgrading a bit at a time?

Sorry for the long post, just really not sure what will give me the best performance etc, cheers

well i havnt got much money at the moment so probably about 100 every 2 or three weeks which is why im buying parts one at a time, just not sure of which order will be better performance wise :)

Your board is not compatible with that CPU.

list of compatible cpu's is here.

http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A785TDV_EVO/#CPUS

best one for that board will be a Phenom IIX6 1100T which are non-existent new these days.

This is probably going to be the cheapest upgrade:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-3220 3.30GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £99.95
1 x MSI Z77A-G43 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £71.99
Total : £183.34 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Keep your RAM & and an option to xfire the 6850 as well.

ah okay my bad! what is better performance wise between the fx and i3? i could always wait and buy the fx and a mobo together

Good advice from Grimley. Or save up for a couple of months and get an i5 system.
£340 will get you something like this. Xfire board for your 6850s. Prices change, as do the weekly offers, so may even work out cheaper.
Then sell of the parts you no longer need, mobo, cpu, ram and the ide drives.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £184.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £112.99
1 x GeIL Black Dragon 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (GD38GB1600C11DC) £28.00
Total : £337.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

thankyou :) If i can afford this in the next few months then i may get this bundle, As for the bulldozers i've just been reading that theyre not so good? is it worth waiting for piledriver? cheers

EDIT: I dont think i'll be able to afford to go the intel route, if i could pick up one of the old phenom x6's would that be good enough for bf3? if not then which bulldozer will be sufficent, cheers!
