What to upgrade?

Hi guys,

Im thinking its about time i upgrade some bits on my rig, but not sure where to start. I was thinking the GFX card, but not sure (ive been having a few issues with just latley, graphical flickering e.t.c even with updating gfx drivers. I hear its common with AMD cards?)

Other than the GFX card i think its pretty solid, so the question is, whats would be a decent upgrade? im not looking for the top quadruple ultra HD card but a decent step up

Check my spec, virtually identical to yours except I have a much nicer GPU. I'm not suggesting you go for the same GPU as me but all you need is a GPU so AMD or Nvidia take your pick

AMD cards to consider:
280x, 290, 290x

Nvidia cards to consider:
670, 770, 780

Also get your CPU to 4.4, I know its not much but its still a difference and you wont encounter much more heat it seems the 3570k gets HOT after you clock above 4.4

Depending on the flavour of Crucial RAM you have your CPU should cover 4.5GHz easy? My 2500k only hit 4.5 once I upgraded from normal Corsair/G.Skill to Corsair vengeance due to the amount I have (all 4 banks @16GB). After adding a new GFX as mentioned above it would be opportune to get some more everyday performance out of your CPU too

It won't generate much more heat either, mine idles at 35 degrees on air cooling with fans on lowest speed setting.

I dont really have a budget in mind. If i had to pluck a number, around the 200-250 mark i guess

I have actually backed my CPU down a little, i was having random crash/reboots >.<

I would stretch your budget just a bit to fit this in, its a amazing card with a great cooler and really good RMA. Also you should try stress testing your CPU overnight and see if it is actual causing the problem as it could be anything in your rig causing the crashes, I almost get crashes from GPUS.
