Everything in my new loop is copper (no need for anti corrosive), so was wondering what anti-algee addative to use. I've noticed a lot of people mention "iodine" on forums but I have no idea on what this is and where I can get some.

Local chemist will sell you Iodine.
Need only 2-3 drops (unless your running a huge res/big loop)

what is iodine generally used for? Is it toxic like a lot of the other anticorrosive stuff?

Iodine will clean anything. It's traditionall put in cuts as a cleanser. And it hurts like heck too, but there's nothing better to put in a cut.

I've searched high and low in all my local chemists but couldnt find Iodine.

I got this off ebay, is it ok to use? And how much of it do I put in?

Ingredients are:

Iodine 2.5%
potassium iodide 2.5%
ethanol 89%

and some other stuff. looks like mostly ethanol with 2.5% iodine (wtf).

thanks.

If you're going to use snales don't use water wetter or similar surfactants as they will prevent the snales from sticking properly to the sides of the tubing leaving them nothing to avoid getting sucked along with the flow.

You shouldn't do this as it's cruel.
