what tool do you advise for overclocking my 8800 GTS ?

as title says I think the Ntune one used to rest all the overclock settings on every re-boot if my memory serves me right, so what tool do you recommend ?

As you OC the Core the Shader auto follows it so thats not a issue, they are related in a set ratio.

Mine too, and the fan control works. You can even set up 2D/3D clock/fan profiles if you can be asked.

Yes 05 is aimed at GPU, 06 is both GPU and CPU

I would actually use a mixture of atitool and rivatuner, open rivatuner to monitor temps, shader clock etc and use atitool to set and test clock speeds, use the spinning cube thing and artifact tester to check if it's stable. Once you think you have you max stable overclock either apply it on startup using rivatuner (prefered as it doesnt sit on your task bar like atitool does) or flash your cards bios to new speeds.

Been using Rivatuner for ages, so easy to use, and never had a problem with it... But as has been posted above, i have also used ATItool just to scan for artifacts before running 3DMark06, and then use Rivatuner to finalise the overclock...
