What tools do you use for working on the PC?

Nail clippers are excellent for cable ties.

I'm mostly using a soldering iron at present. Trying to teach myself to solder wires together using the blowtorch attachment.

The tools i used for my wife's PC were screw driver and nail file.

The nail file was to file down the memory tabs so that dam graphics card would fit.

It worked and it filed them buggers down in no time.

The graphics card i bought on recommendations from you guys ;)

Asus ENGTX460 TOP and she loves it :)

Ps, no beers in that photo?

I use a magnetic screwdriver but I've read this is bad, never had any issues though.

i use a cheap set i bought in a discount store for £1.99.
its mainly philiphs and flathead but also has the small torx ones for mobiles.
but all the bits are magnetic.
imo its not that strong a magnet to do damage to a part (well i hope not)

Philips and flat screwdriver, pliers, short and long nose, portable hard drive and cd drive. Torch and a boot disk. Added a USB pen drive with bootable system on it too, incase i need it.

But mostly, pliers to get them bloody hard little cables out and the two screw drivers, the rest is just in case.

1 x Pair of side cutters
1 x Phillips No1 screwdriver
1 x set of jewellers Screwdrivers
1 x Anti static wristband
1 x Can of air duster

I have got literally hundreds of different hand toolds including soldering irons etc but the above are the only ones i seem to use when working on PC's

A couple of screwdrivers, a torch, and a small pair of bottlenose pliers. Useful for fishing out lost screws, trimming cable ties, and fiddly front panel wiring.

I use a multi-changeable screwdriver thing i got in a christmas cracker, lol no joke, was a decent christmas cracker but a cracker never the less
