Slowly putting together my first spec and one of the things im unsure on is tubing.

There is different thickness tubing and different sized fittings to match so i don't want to get this wrong haha.

For a first timer what would you reccomend for me to make it as easy as possible?

I sent a webnote to OCUK and this was their response;

Thanks for the webnote,
The most popular size of tubing seems to be 7/16, it is in a lot of the kits that we do and is the one that i sell the most of.

Then i would recommend some compression fittings to keep your loop tight...

If you are only cooling your processor then you should only need a dual radiator and a good but not overly expensive pump.
If you have enough bays in the front of your case then i would recommend a pump/res combo...

If you are planning on cooling your graphics later as well thent he d5 pump is one of the best..

You wont need anything that powerful just for the processor though.

The coolant would be up to you depending gon what colour you would want.
Mayhems are very popular.

I still want to use 13/10 though as I cant see how 16/11 will make any difference to performance in any way. Although it may be more resistant to kinking...

Would be interesting to hear others' thoughts.

I believe slimmer tubing is more resistant to kinking and is beneficial when working in tight confines with tighter bends (with mobo/ram blocks for example).
I don't think there's any real performance difference - at least not enough to be concerned with.

Personally, I like 7/16 as it's not too fat, but doesn't look skinny either.

I guess it's more about how you want it look and what you're working with.

This is the spec i have so far;

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Carbide 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case - Black £116.99
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X - Nickel £94.94
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-Supremacy £49.99
1 x EK CoolStream Radiator XT 360 (120.3) £48.98
1 x EK CoolStream Radiator XT 240 (120.2) £38.99
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X Backplate - Black £24.95
Total : £388.94 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Will 7/16 fit well in here without too many kinking issues, and would you suggest any angled fittings?
