Looking to buy a tv card but im unsure which is the best and which software to use. Also do i need to plug it into a house ariel or do the work independant?

I've heard you're better off getting a PCI card rather than a USB device due to better reception. TV cards can work with an indoor aerial but only in strong signal areas, usually they need plugging in to the usual sockets. :)

Tv card

I already had a Hauppage WinTV PCI card in my old rig, but just today bought the USB version (due to my 8800 takin up all the room in my new rig). The signal and reception seems good and same as the pci card, although i've hooked mine up to my sky tv box via an rf lead. We get poor terrestial reception where I live.
