My GT30 has a cracked screen and won't turn on anymore. Trying to think of what 50-55" TV would be a suitable replacement. I don't want to spent too much though as I am waiting for 4K OLED to come down in price, so maybe £700 max for a new TV. It will mostly be used for PS4 4K, blurays and Netflix. I doubt many LCD's will provide image quality as good as the GT30 but anything close would be great. Will be used with a Yamaha YSP7200 so must have ARC. I'm not bothered about smart TV features either as I have external devices for that. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

If it's just for a stopgap then maybe look second hand? What price are you waiting for OLED to drop to, btw? I'd rather put £700 towards one right now.
I was hoping you might be able to pick a 1080p OLED up for less than 1k but can't find any. Looks like the going rate for 4k OLED is 2k minimum.

Went to Sevenoaks today and the guy told me that unless I buy an OLED TV, none of the TVs on sale will come close to replacing my gt30 :(

Interesting. Will check it out. I've got my eye on the Sony 55XD9305 but thinking of waiting till the new models come out and the price drops on these.

Honesty mate I wish could but I have no TV in the living room, which means no PS4 or blurays, and I don't have the money to spend on OLED.

Hi guys, so I ended up going through my house insurance as I have accidental damage on my policy. Figured that for the small increase in premium I'd get it would be worth making use of the policy. Especially as I didn't at the time have much money to spend on a tv.
So they have offered me either a Panasonic tx55802b or £949 currys voucher. I'm going to guess that I most people will say put an extra £500 in and get an LGB6V OLED. Any worthy contenders that have good picture quality and 10bit HDR panel? I really want decent HDR for gaming.

I've managed to get the insurance company to agree to replacing my TV with the LG55B6V or a similar product. They've given me a Currys voucher worth £1497 (todays price on the LG) so I think I'll go compare the 902b and the B6v side by side and see which one I prefer.

Axa. Accidental damage. Whole point of the insurance is to get you back into the position you were in before the accident. My argument was if they gave me a back-lit led TV then I would be in a worse position in terms of black levels and picture quality.

same company , the most important thing to take from my experience is if you have any AV gear individually valued over 1.5k you need to list it or thats all you will get back .
My axa policy has a single item limit of 8k.very useful for laptops, av, jewellery etc.

Thanks for the reply. I've decided that I'll definitely be going for the LG. Hopefully they have stock so I can pick up tomorrow.
