What type of battery to use on a 360

Im goin to be getting a 360 soon and was wondering what batteries to get. In my eyes its between the official rechargeable battery pack or go for rechargeable aa batteries. I read on wikipedia that rechargeable aa's last longer than the battery pack. Does the battery life on either of these diminish. Is this true?

ive had a play and charge kit for mine for ages now and it does last a good week or 2 between charges for me with moderate gaming (not gaming every day but every other day for a fair few hours)

its also nice to be able to charge it while still using it

id say get a kit

All rechargeable batteries diminish in lifespan in time. As you can get it for £10 now though, you may as well go for the official battery pack, as it costs less than a few sets of rechargeables, and after a few charges the battery life seems to extend a bit (the battery memory getting used to its upper and lower limits I'd guess, with battery life towards 20-25 hours, given my experience with rechargables and the Wii remote, I'd say it'd last longer between charges.

From experience my rechargeables in my 360 pads last almost twice as long as the play and charge kit.

I use rechargeable batteries as if I didn't I prob would never unplug the play and charge kit and would kinda defeat the purpose.

You guys have convinced me to get a play and charge kit. What about a quick charge to compliment this? Ive noticed the play and charge kit is the same price as a battery pack.

Not much point in getting the quick charge as well, just go for one or the other.

Another accessory i was wondering about was the messenger pad. Do you guys use msn much on your 360?

What about the vision camera? Ive seen that bundled with a gold membership which seems a good deal unless i wont use it much.

Don't know, few games use it in any real way. You'd have to decide if you would end up using it. I never bothered with it.

It's a good deal and I got one for my last years gold membership. At the moment there's only one out and out vision game and it's awful so you'd really only have it for video chats.

One feature I did like was in R6V where you can have the camera take a couple of mugshots which are then mapped to your characters face in the game. it's quite uncanny but a good fun feature.

MS are supposably bringing out a lot of new camera features in the fall update as well.

The main thing putting me off that membership and camera deal is the chance of the membership card being expired. Has anyone anyone encountered this? If i did how could i get one that works.

the membership doesnt expire if you dont use it (afaik???). as soon as you scratch the thing off and enter the number into XBL you get a years gold sub and then it will expire a year later. if you dont enter the number into XBL then it wont be activated

Play and charge kit, why anyone would want to faff around changing and charging batteries is beyond me.

As for the camera, I have one and it doesn't really get used. Apart from putting my ugly face in games that support it
