After a bike to cycle to work,.just want something smooth ans comfey, do I just get a stadard mountain bike or a hybird?
I would go with this, too. If I were buying a bike to commute to work on now, I would be looking at something like the Genesis Croix De Fer ; steel frame with disc brakes, clearance for mudguards and the ability to fit a rack. I guess it depends on how much you're willing to spend on a bike, thoughi'm going to throw my controversial choice in here...go cyclocross. Light and quick like a roadbike but with a slighter tougher frame which has spring built in. I have a 20 mile commute each way every day and i ride one of these. Good for towpaths, roads and fields.
I'm on the Cycle to Work scheme so went to 3 proper bike shops who asked about my commute (all road) and all 3 put me on a road bike.
