What type of memory

Hi,

I'm hoping somone can help me. A friend wants to upgrade his memory but I am unsure of what type/speed he needs.

The CPU is a AMD Athlon 64 3200+.

If he has a Socket 939 A64 3200+ then he'll need standard DDR ram. PC3200 rated DDR ram will be fine if he doesn't plan on overclocking and runs his CPU at stock speed as well.

If he has the newer AM2 A64 Socket 3200+ then he'll need DDR2 ram. PC2-4200 rated DDR2 ram for non ocing situations

To determine what socket he has, ask him what motherboard he's got.
