I need to send this cable to a friend but don't know if it's a crossover or straight.

How do I determine which one it is? If you guys can figure out what it is with this writing on the cable, please let me know:

E211547 (UL) CM 75 C 30V 24AWG/4P UTP TIA/EIA 568-A CAT-5e LAN CABLE BIZLINK TECHNOLOGY 00296302M

Simple way is to hold both ends up next to each other and see if their in the same slots on both ends? If not I would guess its a cross over

Almost definatly a "normal" cable. But as the man says above, match the colours and check it out yourself. :)

Most crossover cables have a crossover label on them :)

But if you really want to be sure, hold the ends up and compare the wires - if it's a straight-through, then the wires will be in the same order :)

Hold both heads side by side. Now use your eyes and copmare them. you will see they are both made of multi-coloured cables. If they are in the same order in both connector, then it is a "normal" cable.

(Just tell me you are not colourblind as this is a tricky operation if you are :D )
