Hi
I have a problem
My wife uses an old Sony Viao for all her photo graphic work with a screen thats been calibrated, but being 10 years old severely struggles with the demand .. but was the top of the range when bought

I have bought her a new DELL lap top with 8Meg of Ram thinking I was doing the right thing
However on starting the lap top we noticed that when view from the side all the colours go and the image is un readable wheres as on the old Viao the picture remains constant no matter where you view from.

The new lap top after 15mins has also triggered a migraine which we did have problem with when buying a new TV .. after trying 3 we found one that did not trigger the migraines

My question is

Can I still get a lap top with a screen that remains constant when viewed from the any angle

Thanks
Paul

Sounds like you bought a laptop with a TN screen, and you'll likely need an IPS display instead :)
This.
I've noticed the same after upgrading from a few years old Dell IPS monitor, went through VA (didn't like the colours), newer IPS (artefacts when transitioning from light to dark scene, possibly response time to blame?), then ended up with a TN, but colours aren't as good as the old Dell, but response time is better and view angle, not as good, but acceptable.
For most uses, a good IPS display will please note users than a good VA pra TN would.
