Well i am starting a new site in the next few days to mainly keep track of my Visual Basic .NET coursework notes but would like it in the end up be a site to help the biggest n00bs in VB.NET to advanced programmers in every aspect of programming in VB.NET.
What do you think i should go for

PHP
HTML
CSS
Forum Style

Needs to be something not to over the top but not boring with a nice professional look
Easy to Keep Updated
Fast loading

Any opinions or ideas? what would you like to see if it was you learning and viewing the site?

Thanx in Advanced

Nice clean XHTML mark-up and CSS for your fast loading.

PHP for easy updating. It sounds like you'll need an SQL database too for storing all your notes properly etc.

Not sure what you mean by forum style? The concept of a forum or just how they are layed out?

How about a site using asp.net with VB.NET as the driving language.

dispite me not liking ASP i was going to say that it should probably be a VB.NET-ASP site however if your plans are for a large site Microsoft Hosting is more expensive than Linux Hosting and PHP is easyer and its free and theres loads of ppl on the forums like robmiller for example that can really tell you what to do.

If you know where to look you can get good hosting for .NET, I use discountasp and .NET park not very expensive either and have SQL 2005 Support.

ASP.NET is completely different to ASP and is a far superior to PHP.

Well see i have already got hosting and it doesn't accept ASP im thinking at the moment XHTML and the posting section in the middle being a contol management system seeing as i have a friend thats gona make me a photoshop template and hes one of the best web designers i have come across
