so now the sofas are in the room im looking to get a tv sorted out and have it wall mounted. decided to go on a 65incher.
now this is gonna be just used via smart functions so youtube and web and other streaming stuff and playing things off network drives.
thing is i need a wall mount that will leave sufficient space behind the tv for power plug to plug in.
here is a pic:

so my plan is to have the tv cover the power socket and the network cable thats hanging down is to give it the net connection so everything will be hidden.
what sort of wall mount do i need that will allow enough space for the plug to fit behind the tv.
also TV has not been chosen yet. still looking for a 65incher and wondering if i should get one thats android based.

I'd take a look at the various flat mounts on offer and get one that stands proud of the wall by a reasonable amount.
The space you need will depend on the back of the TV as well as they have different cutouts.

As for Android TV, I've not heard good things so I certainly wouldn't look for one specifically. For many it is actually what puts them off.

Mains plug tops are a pain behind a TV, particularly where the mains socket is low on the wall relative to the vertical centre line of the TV. They stick out and foul the back of the TV.

One solution is to use a tilting bracket. If the pivot point is lower than the mains socket/plug top then tilting the screen by only a few degrees down will open up a bit more clearance space (see illustration). You don't have to use this exact type of bracket. This was just the first suitable image I found on the web to make the illustration.

One other benefit of a bit of a tilt is is helps with lighting reflections off the screen.

Why not fit a switched flex outlet, then its just wiring an IEC cable into the outlet... No plug to contend with so gain some valuable space.

Most slim wall brackets leave enough room to accommodate a 3-pin plug behind it.

You'll probably already know this, but please don't mount the bracket directly above the socket (unless you know the cables are run up, not down the wall), don't want you drilling into the cables :p

Also, that cat5 cable is shocking and proper ghetto! do a tidy job man!
